Welcome
The sixteenth century Nobody Inn is set in rolling Devon countryside between the Haldon Hills and the Teign Valley about six miles to the south-west of Exeter. Although modern history of the Inn can be traced back to 1591 it was not until two hundred years later that it became the New Inn and another one hundred and sixty before it was renamed The No Body Inn with reference to an unfortunate episode concerning a deceased landlord.
Today The Nobody Inn is one of the country's leading inns - renowned for its imaginative wine and whisky list, comprehensive selection of local cheeses and creative cooking based on fresh local produce.
Low ceilings, blackened beams, inglenook fireplace, antique furniture and timeless atmosphere retain The Nobody's unspoilt old world charm.
From the beginning of January 2008 the Inn has been under the new ownership of Andy and Rowena Whiteman of the award winning Harris Arms, Portgate, W Devon. Since buying the Inn we have put in a new kitchen, a new team in the kitchen, refurbished the Restaurant and toilets and we are now at work on the guestrooms and the garden. The bar will retain its traditional charm and decor. We continue to offer an exceptional range of wines, whiskies, beers and cheeses. |
