WHAT'S NEW
After 38 years, Nick Borst-Smith has decided to hang up his tasting glass and move on from The Nobody Inn, having created a unique, country Inn and a world-wide reputation for its whiskies, wines and cheeseboards.
And so he handed the keys over to us, Andy and Rowena Whiteman, on the 4th January 2008. You may have met us already, as we also own and run the Harris Arms at Portgate near Lifton in West Devon.
Our intention is to take The Nobody Inn forward, building on its reputation and moving into the 21st century with a new kitchen, refurbished restaurant, pretty gardens and tasteful accommodation.
The bar, however, will keep its traditional feel and ambiance which we recognise is essential to retaining the charm of The Nobody Inn.
In the last 4 years we have transformed the Harris Arms into one of the leading food-led pubs in Devon, and have won many awards and plaudits on the way. We intend to win similar accolades for the Nobody Inn.
Just to let you know, we are both trained wine makers, which is good news for wine lovers, as it means the Nobody Inn's wine list will be cared for and the fantastic selection of whiskies will continue, as will the focus on sourcing locally wherever possible.
We have a passion for food and hospitality and we are looking forward to bringing our mantra of "Eat Real Food, Drink Real Wine" to life at the Nobody Inn.
We look forward to meeting you soon - and if you want a peek at our sister pub, go to www.theharrisarms.co.uk |
